Welcome to Little Folly
First of all let me introduce myself: I am Adrian Hewlett, a former naval officer, long retired from a career in aviation mostly in the Middle East. I live here at Folly with Tinka my Jack Russell, and we both delight in greeting visitors to our rather special property.
Next let me tell you why I say that this remote and solitary place has a SPECIAL FEELING about it. This is because while it is kept very much alive by the stable yard with four horses which graze in my fields, at the same time there is a PALPABLE STILLNESS here. It is this which visitors always find so REFRESHING AND STRENGTHENING after the bustle of modern busy lives.
Therefore think seriously about LITTLE FOLLY which sleeps 1 – 4 people and 1 or 2 dogs, and is the perfect place for those who seek the peace and quiet of the wild beauty of Exmoor, to which there is direct access on all sides
Our visitors enjoy the fact that the famous Red Deer are all around and what’s more a few minutes’ walk will always bring you close to a herd of Exmoor Ponies who also roam wild.
Within a short drive there are great pubs, tea rooms and restaurants, and at the same time there are many ancient remains from the Ancient Britons to the Romans to arouse the interest.
However, for the less energetic nothing beats sitting in the garden and relishing the wide-open views.
Since 2006 we have stayed at Little Folly at least twice a year and the self catering facility has never been faulted. The welcome and attention to the clients requirements has always been exceptional
A wonderful location if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful break with Exmoor on your doorstep. The moor is all around you and great for dog walking.
The accommodation is cosy and welcoming.
Standards of service, friendliness and location are second to none
